MY CANDIDATE

I said Obama was not my candidate and I´ve been looking for a good one, somebody I think would be a great candidate to be President of USA, somebody to whom I would entrust my destiny as a world citizen. I found her making one of those things I enjoy more in life: listening to music. Tracy Chapman is my candidate. Do not laugh. If you have few minutes please do listen to these songs and pay a special attention to the words. I know all her songs by heart as I have heard those so many times...These 3 are just three examples. They are as simple as beautiful and they clearly show what I would expect from somebody with such a responsability. I love her rebelliousness. Her sensibility makes me shiver. As she said in other song, "heaven is here on earth" and she's an true angel in this heaven, the only one that really exists, or that could exist.
Once, a Spanish actor said that all politicians are rubbish cause you cannot trust someone who is willing to have political power. As all real good candidates, this lady would never accept such a responsability even if she were properly trained to act as President of USA.

TALKIN' ABOUT REVOLUTION

Don’t you know They’re talkin’ bout a revolution It sounds like a whisper
Don’t you know They’re talkin’ about a revolution It sounds like a whisper
While they’re standing in the welfare lines
Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation
Wasting time in the unemployment lines
Sitting around waiting for a promotion
Don’t you know They’re talkin’ bout a revolution It sounds like a whisper
Poor people gonna rise up And get their share Poor people gonna rise up
And take what’s theirs
Don’t you know You better run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run
Oh I said you better Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run
Finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin’ bout a revolution Finally the tables are starting to turn Talkin’ bout a revolution
Talkin’ bout a revolution While they`re standing in the welfare lines
Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation
Wasting time in the unemployment lines
Sitting around waiting for a promotion
Don’t you know
They’re talkin’ bout a revolution
It sounds like a whisper
Finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin’ bout a revolution Finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin’ bout a revolution Talkin’ bout a revolution Talkin’ bout a revolution

BEHIND THE WALL

Last night I heard the screaming Loud voices behind the wall
Another sleepless night for me It won't do no good to call The police
Always come late If they come at all Last night I heard the screaming
Loud voices behind the wall Another sleepless night for me It won't do no good to call
The police Always come late If they come at all
And when they arrive They say they can't interfear With domestic affairs Between a man and his wife And as they walk out the door The tears well up in her eyes
Last night I heard the screaming Then a silence that chilled my soul Prayed that I was dreaming When I saw the ambulance in the road
And the policeman said "I'm here to keep the peace. When the crowd disperse I think we all could use some sleep."
Last night I heard the screaming Loud voices behind the wall
Another sleepless night for me It won't do no good to call The police Always come late If they come at all

WHY?

Why do the babies starve When there's enough food to feed the world
Why when there're so many of us Are there people still alone
Why are the missiles called peace keepers When they're aimed to kill
Why is a woman still not safe When she's in her home
Love is hate War is peace No is yes And we're all free
But somebody's gonna have to answer The time is coming soon
Admidst all these questions and contradictions There're some who seek the truth
Why do the babies starve When there's enough food to feed the world
Why when there're so many of us Are there people still alone
Why are the missiles called peace keepers When they're aimed to kill
Why is a woman still not safe When she's in her home
Love is hate War is peace No is yes And we're all free
But somebody's gonna have to answer The time is coming soon
When the blind remove their blindness And the speechless speak the truth
Tell me Why do the babies starve When there's enough food to feed the world
Why when there're so many of us Are there people still alone
Why are the missiles called peace keepers When they're aimed to kill
Why is a woman still not safe When she's in her home
Love is hate War is peace No is yes And we're all free

And finally, I am not the only fan of her...
